Floral Nail Tutorial

So I think I’ll make this a regular Sunday thing :) mainly because my friend Becki told me she tried the half moons and loved them, so here you go Bex!

It’s probably a bit silly to do a tutorial because they’re pretty easy to work out, unfortunately I lacked a bit of skill in making them look like proper flowers. I’ll practise ;)

What you will need:

A Base Colour (I went for light blue)

A Light and Dark Version of the Same Colour (Pink for me)

A Green (Light and Dark if you have them)

A White Nail Pen

Glitter polishes (Optional!)

Firstly, get a nice and even base coat on the go. Sometimes I’m tempted to leave them as is but I get bored after like an hour! Wait for them to dry before the next step, I could have probably spent time cleaning up the edges for this photo but spent it on tumblr instead. Oh well.

Next, get the darker of your chosen colours and make round-ish blobs on your nails, remember you’ll be adding leaves in so leave (lolz) some space for them! Don’t worry, it’ll look a bit rubbish at first, jut look at miiiine! Oh I painted my ring finger with a Models Own Polish called “Emerald City” just to mix it up a wee bit, you don’t have to do it if you think it looks silly.

So wait for them to dry again. And get your green and just do two little flicks from each blob. Don’t try and be too exact, no-one will notice if they’re a bit dodgy. Then once you’ve done that get your lighter flower colour and just put three marks in each blob, you’ll probably do better than me! Now wait to dry. Oh I put a second coat of glitter polish on that odd nail too, of you’re doing the same.

Right so you could just leave the nails as they are if you don’t have any pens because they actually look quite cute! But I just (badly) highlighted the edges in white and added some little pink glitter hints to the flowers and green glitter hints to the leaves. I then added some polka dots to the ring finger. Wait for it to dry and lastly, seal it all in with a nice, clear topcoat! Lovely!

IGNORE THE THUMB!! I tried adding black and it was not nice!

See what I did there? ;)
